Title: Case study of physiotherapy care for patient diagnosed with polyneuropathy. Objective: Summary of theoretical knowledge and the processing of case study of patient diagnosed with polyneuropathy. Summary: The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part includes the elucidation of illness polyneuropathy, classification, diagnosis and treatment. A special section is devoted to case study with a rehabilitation plan for the patient. The therapy was focused mainly at influencing the pathological sensation, improving fitness and stability when standing and walking. Case study was prepared at the time of practice from 08. 01. to 17. 01. 2013 at the neurology department of the Hospital Na Bulovce. Vojta's reflex locomotion in hereditary polyneuropathies
Vinciková, Lenka ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Truc, Michal (referee)
CMT disease is the most frequently type of the hereditary polyneuropathy. In the Czech republic are some 2 - 4 thousand people with this disease. Clinical picture is characterized by deterioration peripheralnerves, that faces to muscular atrophy and mobility disorders. Lower limbs are affected early than upper limbs. On the lower extremitywe observe typical deformity progress - pes cavus. Fingers on the hand are in claw position. The disturbed peripheral nerves and foot deformity affect balance, movement and stability. The scope of my work was assessment of the value of the Vojta's reflective locomotion for the hereditary polyneutopathy. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Determination of the fatty acids spectrum in patients undergoing treatment with taxanes
Kuříková, Barbora ; Kuchařová, Monika (advisor) ; Nováková, Veronika (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biophysics and Physical Chemistry Author of Diploma Thesis: Bc. Barbora Kuříková Supervisor of Diploma Thesis: Mgr. Monika Kuchařová, Ph.D. Consultant: prof. MUDr. Zdeněk Zadák, CSc. Title of Diploma Thesis: Determination of the fatty acids spectrum in patients undergoing treatment with taxanes The diploma thesis deals with the determination of fatty acids spectrum in erythrocytes in patients treated with taxanes. The theoretical part describes general features of fatty acids, their synthesis and degradation. Then it is focused on the topic of breast cancer, taxane treatment and negative side effects associated with taxane treatment, especially polyneuropathy. The gas chromatography, which is commonly used in practice, is also described in this part. The experimental part is divided into three parts. The first part describes working process, chromatographic analysis and evaluation of this analysis. In the second part there is comparing of spectrum of fatty acids of patients without and with polyneroupathy. And in the last part there is a comparing of spectrum of fatty acids of patients before taxane treatment, closely after treatment and about month after the treatment. Results of the experimental part are evaluated at the end...

Sedláček, Jakub ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Hankovcová, Eva (referee)
Title: A Case study of physiotherapeutic care of patient with diagnosis of stroke. Objectives: The goal of this bachelor thesis has been set as processing a case study of patient after ischemic stroke, and summarising important theoretical knowledge regarding this diagnosis. Methods: This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - a general part and a special part. The general part concerns a theory which is necessary to understand this issue thoroughly. That means anatomical basis of the disease, characteristic of the disease including clinical manifestation, epidemiology, risk factors and treatment. The special part includes a detailed case report of the patient including input analysis, performed therapies, output analysis and evaluation of the effect of the therapy. As the patient also suffers from diabetic polyneuropathy, this thesis also covers this topic shortly. Results: The patien's health condition improved. He doesn't tire so fast, tonus of lower extremities' muscles and abdominal wall's muscles has increased, stereotypes of gait and breathing has improved. This bachelor thesis aims to provide a general overview of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in pediatric cancer patients. The first part describes common characteristics of polyneuropathy and specific attributes of CIPN, its incidence, clinical manifestation, risk factors and summary of most frequently used chemotherapy agents causing peripheral neuropathy. The second part reports current assessment strategies for CIPN based on clinical grading scales and then it reports present knowledge of rehabilitation interventions for patients with CIPN. The thesis also includes description and translation of "pediatric-modified Total Neuropathy Score" (ped-mTNS) and "Total Neuropathy Scale-Pediatric Vincristine" (TNS- PV). In discussion part, there are summarized both advantages and disadvantages of CIPN testing systems. The TNS-PV was concluded as the most feasible scale for use in rehabilitation or oncology clinic settings.
